Did You Wrestle in High School or College? If So, It’s Time!
By Chuck Harman, Board Member, International Fraternity of Wrestlers
Let us know where and when you wrestled below in the comment section. We want to hear from you!
If you wrestled, you know the sport of wrestling. You know the type of character wrestling builds as well as the kind of characters we had on our teams and in our wrestling rooms.
There is something unique about wrestling. You have a team sport based on individual performances. There’s nothing like it. You don’t get cut from wrestling. There are no tryouts. The sport is self-purging, simply because there is nowhere to hide. Everyone who survives wrestling takes something away from the sport that they will use for the rest of their lives. Wrestling is a master class in the university of life. If you wrestled, you get it. You know what is being talked about here.
It’s time to be proud of our time on the mat. The International Fraternity of Wrestlers (IFW) is inviting you to become the voice and champion for our sport. The time has come for the millions of us who wrestled competitively to unite as one group. It’s time we take a stance with the media. Now is the time for you to join us as one collective force.
There are more than 11 million men and women in the United States who have wrestled. Imagine for one moment what uniting a few million under one group would accomplish for our sport. Sponsors WILL take notice. The sport will experience a growth reminiscent of the 1970’s with colleges and universities providing high school wrestlers the opportunity to wrestle at the next level. The IFW is that group.
OK, here’s the pitch. We can talk about wrestling for hours: the stories, great matches and some of the greatest athletes the world has ever known. However, we have yet to unite to gain our proper place in the sporting world. Uniting–it’s the key to our success. It starts with you joining the IFW, reaching out to former teammates and twisting their arm to join and keep paying it forward. Uniting means you too have a part to play. It is our responsibility to build wrestling’s collective power–ours and ours alone. Why? That’s how it works.
This spring lets grow wrestling together. Join the IFW today for net nothing! Yes, net nothing! For a limited time only, go to www.ifwrestlers.org to join for $25 using this discount code NETNOTHING.
How will it cost you nothing? Within 30 days of joining the IFW, you will receive a virtual cash card worth $25 at over 18,000 restaurants throughout the United States. Why? We all have to eat–even former competitive wrestlers. Before your next credit card bill arrives, you will have your cash card in hand. That’s how it will cost you nothing.
Your membership goes to supporting the IFW’s efforts to attract major corporate sponsors to the sport, rebranding wrestling and stepping out of the shadows of the WWE and the UFC. Your participation is needed and required to turn the tide and start advancing wrestling.
Joining the IFW is supporting a sport that you once loved, sweated over and maybe even cried over in your competitive years. Now is the time to join the IFW to ensure high school and college wrestlers get the opportunity to wrestle at the next level–just like you did.
Give back and support a platform uniting all wrestlers. Use Discount Code NETNOTHING and join today for net nothing at www.ifwrestlers.org. Don’t delay! Do it right now as this offer expires April 30, 2015.
